Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds a distinguished chair in psychology in the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely known as the pioneer of modern-day scientific research of eyewitness accounts from children's memories and the use of child victims in court settings. Prof. Goodman has published widely as well as received numerous grants. She has also received many international and national awards. She has provided consulting on research and policy for numerous government agencies and departments from all over the world. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is also a fellow in the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Practice and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the former President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
